Bloom focuses on the stereotypically 'warm' and 'glowy' depiction of the transition from girlhood into womanhood. By taking juxtaposing stylistic inspiration from films such as 'The Virgin Suicides', I hoped to explore the discomfort of this time, as well as tapping into my own experiences and nostalgia through photographing familiar spaces and aesthetics.
